As any artist or writer knows, trying to keep up a regular schedule of producing content can sometimes be even more daunting than the production of the artistic content itself. Nevertheless, whenever I find the time to write and publish a new post, along with updating the rest of the galleries on this website, I try to make most of it, oftentimes publishing photos that have been kept in my archives for a long time.
Back in January, a friend of mine, Lauren Sifferman, and I decided to get together and shoot again, but this time, we wanted to collaborate on a project that combined different mediums of art: wearable sculpture, modeling, and photography.
These images were captured in Lauren’s apartment, highlighting different decorations and pieces.
Lauren had created a piece welded together, with an aggressive, almost dangerous, look to it, which she nicknamed “The Hive” at the time of our shoot.
The piece’s menacing angles and sharp edges left noticeable marks on Lauren’s skin as she wore it, which added to the visceral aesthetic of the artwork.
We found different locations throughout Capitol Hill and South Lake Union in Seattle and observed how the Hive interacted with the light and the various environments that we encountered.
Images shot on Leica SL, Zeiss 35mm 1.4 ZM and Leica 50mm 1.4 Summilux-M ASPH
