It’s been three years since I graduated from the University of Washington (and almost two years since I last published anything on my website), and I haven’t found many reasons to return to my alma mater after my unceremonious YouTube livestream graduation ceremony.
But, as my partner has started her Master’s program at the UW, I’ve found more of a reason to step back onto campus again to accompany her to her first classes and show her the ins and outs of the campus.
Along with the unexpected homecoming, I’ve also reunited with one of my beloved Leica SL camera bodies, bringing along a new companion, the Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art DG DN, made specially for L-mount.
Roaming around the campus again with a Leica camera in hand brought me back to all of my old UW memories. My love for the mainstays and rotating exhibits at the Henry Art Gallery, the George Washington statue, and the fall-stained leaves, were all present on the sunny day that I went.
It felt like a sort of homecoming.
